CELTIC EVENING PRAYER SERVICES
Evening Prayer Services are held on a monthly basis at 7:00pm.  Each service recognizes a Celtic Saint whose church feast day is on or near the day of the service.

Celebrating Saint Collen
Sunday, May 20, 7:00pm

Saint Collen will be the saint of distinction during our May Celtic Evening Prayer Service on Sunday, May 20th.  The saint as a young man, from Welsh royalty, was sent to be educated in France where he spent eight years before returning to Britain.  Saint Collen was a fighter against paganism, and there are several stories (legends?) about him in this respect.  Eventually he became the Abbot of Glastonbury, but his growing discouragement with the behavior of people and their evil ways eventually forced him to go off as a hermit.  It is said that he traveled by coracle to the town of Llangollen in Wales where there s a church named in his honor to this day.  He died on May 21st, which we now celebrate as his feast day.

Please join us for this last evening prayer service of the spring.  The service usually takes about thirty minutes, and guests are always welcome.  The service begins at 7:00PM and traditional Celtic dress is always welcome.
